The following is a list of sites that offer information on cancer.

This is not an exhaustive list; however, I hope you find the list helpful.

American Cancer Society – the largest non-government, not-for-profit funding source of cancer research in the United States. Its site provides education and information about cancer, steps to take to prevent cancer, and help finding support, as well as information on fundraising events.

Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR) – this nonprofit organization offers a collection of over 140 online cancer communities that provide information and support for anyone affected by cancer and related disorders.

Breast – the nonprofit organization provides up-to-date information about breast cancer and breast health, as well as access to a supportive online community.

Cancer Care, Inc. – a national nonprofit organization that provides counseling, face-to-face and online support groups, education workshops, and offers financial assistance. Professional oncology social workers provide counseling by telephone, online or in person.

Intercultural Cancer Council – created through the Texas Medical Center in Houston, the organization promotes policies, programs, partnerships, and research to eliminate the unequal burden of cancer among racial and ethnic minorities and medically underserved populations in the United States and its associated territories.

National Cancer Institute (NCI) – as part of the National Institutes of Health, NCI coordinates the National Cancer Program, which provides research, training, and health information-sharing. NCI offers other programs related to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer for cancer patients and their families.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure – the world’s largest breast cancer organization. Its site contains facts about breast cancer, risk factors, diagnosis, and provides support and other resources.
